I love her decor, but I also love her effortless, simple fashion style too. Joanna Gaines is kinda my WCW if ya know what I mean. Love how the mantel turned out this year – that sign really just inspired it all and makes it.Fans of the show will LOVE these Fixer Upper holiday gifts from Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia!īy now you probably realize that the holidays are creeping closer every day. Plus I try to leave lots of room to play on it since most days there is coloring books, playdough, and toys being played on it throughout the day. Since I have so much going on the mantel, I went super simple on the coffee table. My fall clearance galvanized tray from Hobby Lobby I knew would be so pretty filled with greenery and candles for Christmas. it was one of my favorites! I love the simplicity (and same wreath used this year – a flocked wreath from Walmart).Īnother new addition was the flocked garland from Walmart… this garland is so budget friendly and so pretty! I had wanted it for the last 2 years and never found it after Christmas so I went ahead and bought it this year. And can we talk about what a difference doing that German Schmear technique on the fireplace made?! That orange/red brick clashed so bad with all my Christmas decor… I am so happy with how it looks now!Īnd just for fun here’s my Christmas mantel from 2 years ago. Here’s last years Christmas mantel – once again, same big piece is used this year just the back that has shiplap on it is focal point this year. I love how you can change up just a few things or add a few new things and create a whole new look for Christmas. My “theme” for Christmas this year is a plaid farmhouse theme which really comes together on the tree which I’ll show you on Monday. I still need to find or make some initial tags for our stockings but for now, some cute Target dollar spot tags dress them up. I pretty much keep that little wood bench (another yard sale find) on the hearth all the time and just change out the pillows or decor. We’ve so been enjoying this Christmas book countdown – our little girl can’t wait to open the book each day and then we read it several times throughout the day. Along with a vintage sled found at a flea market years ago and little tree. On the hearth is our basket of books for the Christmas book advent we are doing this year – you can read all about that here. And then just added some lanterns (these galvanized ones were used first on my Christmas porch several years ago and the red ones are from IKEA) and fresh greenery to complete the look. The large tobacco basket (from Hobby Lobby) usually hangs in the corner where the Christmas tree is, so I just moved it over the mantel for now. I actually had a different vision for my mantel but then when I started digging out Christmas decor, I found that sign I got at Kirkland’s last year on after-Christmas clearance and knew I wanted to use it. If my fireplace wall wasn’t 25-30 foot high I would really deck the whole thing with shiplap, but for now I’ll settle for this backdrop. I’ve used it almost all year long over my mantel with various seasonal decor and I just love it. Oh how I wish I really could deck the walls with lots of shiplap! □ I actually flipped over the large Christmas sign I made for my Christmas mantel last year and nailed faux shiplap (made with thin plywood like this tutorial) on the back. Plaid, shiplap, tobacco baskets, greenery, and vintage items all adore my Christmas mantel and I think even Joanna Gaines would be proud! So excited to share all the details of my Christmas mantel with you today!
